Professional gift planners, advisors and allied professionals alike will descend upon New Orleans next week to enjoy the 2012 National Conference of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP) – and JGA is excited to join them.
This year’s conference, titled “Precious Assets. Innovative Gifts. Lasting Impact” will run from October 3-5 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel.
PPP is the largest membership organization in the world for those whose work involves charitable gifts and planning. With local councils as well as a national presence, there are many options for those who delve into gift planning from full-time professionals to part-time volunteers.
PPP’s conference lineup includes some of the nation’s best and most respected voices in the philanthropic and gift planning world. In fact, our own Angela White will be presenting a session titled “Ten Tips for Soliciting Planned Gifts from Women,” an area of focus in her esteemed career.
While we are there, Angela and I look forward to learning the latest in gift planning news and we will be sure to share with you what we learn. Some of the topics to be addressed this year, include:
- Philanthropic strategies that empower your donors and clients
- How to combine current and future gift and tax strategies
- How to create effective nonprofit and advisor teams
- How to maximize fundraising staff effectiveness
- Eliminate barriers to gift planning success
- Encourage innovation
- Current status of legislative and regulatory issues that affect donors, clients and nonprofits
While attending the National Conference might not fit your budget this year, I encourage you to check out your local council for other informative, timely and cost-effective programs. You can also access numerous other resources on philanthropic planning at the PPP website at www.pppnet.org. Happy planning!
